Maxim Bykov was born on December 3, 1983, in Moscow, Russian Federation. In 2005, he graduated from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics with a degree in World Economy. In 2024, he successfully completed the Senior Executive Programme at London Business School. 

Maxim began his career in the banking sector in 2004. From 2004 to 2015, he held various positions at Citibank Russia, DeltaCredit Bank, Barclays Bank Russia, and MTS Bank, progressing from a specialist to a department head. 

For ten years (2015–2025), he worked at OTP Bank Russia, where he successfully held the positions of Director of the Collections Department, Director of the Collections and Remote Customer Service Directorate, and Director of the Collections and Operations Management Division.

Since April 3, 2025, Maxim Bykov has served as Head of the Operations Block and Acting Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. On September 29 of the same year, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Ipoteka bank OTP Group.
