From 15 January to 28 February 2026, Uzbekistan plans to carry out a large-scale population and agricultural census. This process is aimed at effective planning of the country’s economic and social development, regional infrastructure, as well as the education and healthcare systems. Based on the results obtained, the government will make decisions on the construction of new schools and hospitals in the regions and on measures to support agriculture and entrepreneurship.
During the census, data will be collected on the population’s age, marital status, level of education, employment, sources of income, and migration trends. At the same time, key agricultural indicators will be updated, including information on land use, livestock, and poultry farming. These data will form the basis for ensuring the country’s economic stability and food security.
The census will be conducted in two stages:
- 15–31 January — online census via the website census.stat.uz;
- 4–28 February — traditional census conducted through door-to-door visits.
Important note: the census taker is required to introduce themselves, present an official identification card, and inform respondents in advance of the estimated duration of the survey. Active public participation in this process will help make the country’s development plans more accurate and effective.
