Ipoteka Bank OTP Group and the Cybersecurity Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of combating cyber threats in the financial sector. The partnership aims to strengthen the protection of customers’ data and funds amid growing digital risks.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has seen a rise in cybercrime, including bank card fraud and personal data breaches. With the development of digital banking services, customer protection has become one of the key priorities of the financial sector.
The memorandum provides for the prompt exchange of information on cyber incidents, joint analysis of emerging threats, and the development of measures to prevent potential damage to customers and banking infrastructure.
“In the context of digitalization, customer security is our priority. Cooperation with the Cybersecurity Center will enable us to identify threats more quickly and strengthen the protection of financial transactions,” said Sandro Rtveladze, Chairman of the Management Board of Ipoteka Bank OTP Group.
The parties also agreed to cooperate in developing professional competencies of specialists and implementing best practices that could serve as a foundation for national cybersecurity standards.
The signing of the memorandum is seen as a practical step toward strengthening the resilience of the financial system and protecting the interests of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
